Charisma Carpenter

 Charisma Carpenter (born July 23rd, 1970) is an American actress from the United States. She was Cordelia Chase in the supernatural drama series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-1999) and its spin-off series Angel (1999-2004). She also appeared on Charmed (2004), Kendall Casablancas and Veronica Mars (2005-2006), Rebecca Sewell and Lacy in The Lying Game (2012–2013 strong>).

 



 

  Carpenter was the daughter of Christine Carpenter, a bird sanctuary worker, and Don Carpenter (a salesman) She was born in Las Vegas. Carpenter is of Spanish (from her maternal grandmother), French, German and German descent. Carpenter was a student at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.[6] She was also part of a song and dance troupe that was in Las Vegas Valley at nine years.

 



 

  Carpenter moved her family from Rosarito Beach, Baja California to Mexico at the age of 15 years old. After that, they relocated to San Diego to California. She attended Bonita Vista High School and Chula Vista School of the Creative and Performing Arts. Carpenter has traveled throughout Europe after graduation. Carpenter returned to San Diego in 1991 and was employed as an aerobics instructor as well as a videostore clerk and property manager. In 1991 she was a cheerleader for the San Diego Chargers. In 1992, she moved from San Diego to Los Angeles.

 



 

  Henry Hubbard Jr., an ex-police officer from San Diego and serial rapist, attacked her and two male acquaintances while she was in the water in San Diego in the year 1991. Hubbard tried to subdue them using a gunpoint. During the fight the two friends as well as Hubbard were shot, forcing him to flee from the scene; both friends survived the assault. Hubbard was convicted and sentenced to a 56-year prison for a string of rapes, burglaries. Carpenter took Hubbard's police-issue flashlight to the beach which he left at the scene and the flashlight was a key piece of evidence used against him.

 



 

  Carpenter was No. Carpenter was No. 31 on AskMen's Top 99 desirable women 2002[3030. 44 on their 2005 list. Carpenter claimed that she didn't consider herself a sex symbol in spite of this. Carpenter was in the cover story as well as in a ten-page naked image in the June 2004 issue. When she was approached by People magazine in 2005 whether she'd ever appear on Playboy in the future, she responded, "I don't know. Playboy was a decision I made with a specific reason. It wasn't just a good financial move however, it was also about my current situation within my life. My son was born and I had gained 50 pounds in the course of my pregnancy. I was determined to return to my old self. I wanted to look beautiful and attractive. So I wondered, "What could I do if I went all out'
